Backpacking to Penang : 1st day

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Yo ! Happy holidays to all MMUians from me, your one and only Pqah, who's currently blogging from Batu Feringghi, Penang Island ! :D

Alhamdulillah, despite having butt-ache for sitting in the bus for NINE HOURS, yes, SEMBILAN JAM, from Melaka Central to Butterworth, we reached the Lazyboys Guesthouse safely C;

From Melaka Sentral to Lazyboys Guesthouse:

1. Had a bumpy RM45 9-hour ride because the bus stopped several times along the way to pick up passengers from other states ; Terminal One, R n R (s), Terminal Aman Jaya Ipoh, and bus exchange at R n R Simpang Pulai.

2. Being taught a lesson from Abang bus driver, in a rude way, that Butterworth and Penang are actually two different pit stops. So if you were heading to the island, you should purchase the "Butterworth" ticket, or else the bus would bring you to the mainland (Sungai Nibong).

3. Realised that Penang people are "way much busier" than Kuala Lumpur. You should see them rushing out from ferry and bang you without sorry. Husnuzhon, maybe we walked "way tooo slow". Kot.

4. Also realised that Penang people are quite nice and caring. Because the RM 1.20 ferry gatekeeper uncle scolded us for coming to Batu Ferringhi without being accompanied by adults. 

"BANYAK ORANG GILA SANA"-he said.

5. Took the RM 2.70 Rapid 101 bus to Batu Ferringhi. Met a nice lady who guided us on where to get off from the bus and where to sightsee in Batu Ferringhi. There was a nice man too! He warned us to avoid holding wallets or valuable items as there are cases going on.

6. Dropped off the bus at a Petrol Station with McDonald and a Maybank nearby. Walked through the night market till we reached the Lazyboys Guesthouse :D

REACHED. UNPACKED. DINNER TIME!

And so we headed to Padang Kota Lama foodcourt C;

Several lessons to be learned :

1. Ask before you eat. We paid RM 8 for Char Kuey Teow. Perhaps I should use my Kedahan slang for discounts. /;

2. Learn to say "NO". As we reached the Malay stalls area, the hawkers surrounded us and there goes the unstoppable promotion ! And without us realising, we unintentionally ordered the RM 8 Char Kuey Teow. Husnuzhon, the TWO prawns made it expensive.

3. Plan your time and budget well. We overspent on food and we didn't have enough time to sightsee, because reached late and the operation hours here (in Batu Feringghi, not so sure about Georgetown) end around 12 or 1 am. But alhamdulillah we managed to have..
